Why has the Canadian economy remained so lackluster for so long? It’s a mystery that baffles even the experts. “There’s a level gap,” Bank of Canada Governor Stephen Poloz said recently, “between where we thought the economy would be…and where it actually is.” What isn’t a mystery is who’s suffering the brunt. Young workers tend to be the first to feel the pinch when the economy is slow.
