The dust has settled on Canada's 42nd general election, and after voting the Harper Conservatives out of power, Canadians are anxiously awaiting the "real change" that Justin Trudeau's Liberals promised to voters during the election campaign.

A little over a week ago, Justin Trudeau and his Liberal Party won an historic election victory in which the Liberals went from third party status in the House of Commons to forming a majority government. Canadians voted decisively against the austerity measures that Stephen Harper's Conservative Government had been pushing on the country for nearly a decade, and as a result, the Harper era is now over.

After four long years of majority Conservative government, Canadian voters will finally get a chance to render their verdict on Stephen Harper and his party. And with turnout at advance polls – many of which were located on college and university campuses – indicating that more Canadian youth will be voting in this year's election than in 2011, it's worth reviewing the Harper Government's record on issues that matter to young people.
